Shipping Policy

1. General Information

We ship orders from the United Kingdom using Royal Mail services.
Orders are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days (Monday–Friday, excluding UK public holidays).
You will receive a dispatch confirmation email once your order has been handed to Royal Mail.
Please ensure your delivery address is correct at checkout. We are not responsible for parcels delayed or returned due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.

2. UK Shipping

We currently offer the following Royal Mail services for UK deliveries (including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland):

Tracked Services (Royal Mail Tracked 48, where available)

End-to-end tracking and delivery notifications via Royal Mail.
Signature may be required on delivery.
For total order value up to £75.00.

High-Value / Urgent Orders (Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed)

Guaranteed next-working-day delivery by 1pm to most UK addresses (subject to Royal Mail’s terms and service availability).
Includes tracking and proof of delivery.
For total order value over £75.00 and up to £750.00

Note: Delivery times are estimates provided by Royal Mail and are not guaranteed (except where using a guaranteed service such as Special Delivery). Delays can occur due to weather, strikes, seasonal backlogs or other circumstances beyond our control.

3. Shipping Rates

Generally speaking, a Shipping Policy often addresses these types of issues: the timeframe for processing orders; the shipping costs; different domestic and international shipping solutions; potential service interruptions; and much, much more.

4. Packing & Handling

All items are carefully packed to protect delicate model railway stock, including locomotives, rolling stock, buildings, track and scenery.
Where possible, items are shipped in their original manufacturer’s packaging, placed inside an outer box with suitable padding.
In the event of a packaging shortage or large/odd-shaped item, we may reuse clean, sturdy boxes and packing materials to reduce waste.

5. Tracking Your Order

If you select a tracked service, your tracking number will be included in your dispatch email or available in your account/order history.
Tracking information is provided by Royal Mail and may take a few hours to update after dispatch.

6. Missed Deliveries & Returned Parcels

If you are not at home, Royal Mail may leave your parcel in a safe place, with a neighbour, or take it to your local delivery office, leaving a “Something for you” card.
It is your responsibility to arrange redelivery or collection from Royal Mail within their holding period.
If an order is returned to us as undeliverable or uncollected, we can:
- Resend it (additional postage charges may apply), or
- Refund the order value minus the original shipping cost.

7. Lost, Delayed or Damaged Parcels

Delayed Parcels

Royal Mail considers an item lost only after a certain period has passed (for example, typically 10 working days for UK 1st/2nd class services, and longer for international).
If your parcel is significantly delayed, please contact us and we will help investigate.

Lost Parcels

If a parcel is confirmed lost by Royal Mail, we will offer either:
A replacement (subject to stock availability), or
A refund for the affected items.

Damaged Parcels / Items
If your parcel arrives damaged, please:

Keep all packaging materials.
Photograph the packaging and damaged items.
Contact us by email at support@highspeedmodels.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos.
We will assess the damage and arrange a replacement, partial refund, or full refund as appropriate.
